Comfort and happy food @ Parkside Diner

One of our favorite restaurants in Japan is Parkside Diner. This is another restaurant highly recommended by my parents. They serve sandwiches, pasta, ice cream, etc. If you're looking for something comforting, simple and happy (my sister Mitch would call this happy food because it's food associated with celebrating), this is the place to go to.

Fried prawns

The fried prawns come with tartar sauce. This wasn't overwhelming at all. It was just right and yummy!

Spaghetti with clams, tomato and mushrooms

Assorted sandwich
(with ham, egg, tomato, tuna and cheese)

American clubhouse sandwich
Love the buttery taste of the chicken!

Strawberry ice cream

Chocolate sundae

I wish we ordered everything in the menu. Believe me... everything we tried here was just terrific! This makes it in the family's favorite restos in Japan. ^_^

Family dinner @ Grace Park

We were thrilled to know Margarita Fores has another establishment since we're Cibo lovers (Like them on Facebook). Since Cibo began which was late 90's, Margarita's food has been consistent, never disappointing. After reading several write ups and Mom's positive feedback from her lunch here, we decided to check it out for dinner.

Baked Chicharon in 2 ways: Salmon roe and Prosciutto

Cioppino (Italian seafood and tomato soup)

Baked Scallops Capiz Bihod

Pappardelle with Duck Ragu

Pappardelle with salted eggs, asparagus & truffle oil
-Truffle based pastas are awesome!

Grilled rib eye

Home fried potatoes

Strawberry gelato

Mascarpone gelato
-Love the milky taste of this one!

Pastillas Chocolate Lava
-Combining pastillas and chocolate was such a brilliant idea!

We wiped out everything you see here. It's such a treat to have fresh pasta! The juices here are refreshing and yummy too (sorry didn't get to take a picture). Staff are friendly and accommodating. Like I said... it's consistent, never disappointing. I'm sure this won't be our last time here and I look forward to trying other items. Congrats Margarita!

Father's Day dinner @ Century Seafood

We wanted to make Father's Day special, so we chose one of Dad's favorite restaurants, Century Seafood. The restaurant is always packed, either because of an event (mostly weddings) or it's just ordinary full house. It's a good thing we were able to reserve on time.

Soup with dried scallops

"Birthday noodles"
Sorry don't know the exact name.

Pigeon

Prawn Salad

Salted Fish Fried Rice

Stir fried scallops with broccoli

Steamed Suahe

Steamed Lapu-Lapu

Mochi balls
When I asked the name of this dessert, they gave me a foreign name. This is ube flavored with peanut butter filling. This is yummy!

We were 5 and all of these were wiped out. ^_^ This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in town. In all our visits, I can say everything is always good... taste, quality, flow of the place are consistent. I suggest to make a reservation at least 2-3 days in advance since it gets full.

Crab and seafood dinner @ Crabhouse, Bohol

Our first dinner in Bohol was at Crabhouse. This place was new to all of us, even with my parents, who have been to Bohol. My brother, Dax did some research beforehand and suggested this place. I had a feeling this would Dad's, Dax's and my sister in law, Sheila's type because they're crab and seafood lovers. The travel time from the hotel to hear was around 30 minutes.

Birds and fishes (sorry I wasn't happy with my pics of the latter) will keep you entertained while you dine. :D #animallover

Menu

So much to choose! :D

Complimentary chips

Scallops Rockefeller
I love its cheesiness and creaminess!

Sizzling Hot Clams

Crab Croquettes

Gambas Al Ajillo

Halaan soup*

Big Eye Tuna Belly
I love its smoky flavor! Also, it wasn't dry.

Crab Relleno*

Prawns Thermidor

Garlic rice

Banana split

My favorites were the Scallops Rockefeller, Sizzling Hot Clams, Prawns Thermidor and Big Eye Tuna Belly. Since the servings are small, I hope we can have more of these on our next visit. I saw some tables ordered pasta and got curious... hope we get to try those too.
