Takoyaki and cake @ New Hatchin and Bebe Rouge

I used to procrastinate cooking Japanese because it was difficult finding certain ingredients since local groceries only have limited items. That's no longer the case because there are several Japanese groceries around the area. A reliable Japanese grocery is New Hatchin, which has 3 branches. I have been one of their loyal customers because I always find what I need and more for both food and non-food items. More good news for Japanese foodies... Takoyaki is available every Saturday and Sunday from 9am-5pm.*

Takoyaki
One of my pet peeves is fake takoyaki, wherein they use shrimp and sweet and sour sauce. When my brother Dax told us about their takoyaki, of course how could I resist? I can assure that you will be getting the real deal here... octopus, Japanese mayo, takoyaki sauce and all the works. It's 8 pieces and bigger too. ^_^

After our shopping, I convinced Dad to have dessert and coffee at Bebe Rouge, the Japanese French bakeshop. Dad was hesitant but gave in eventually. He says eating here is like eating in Japan. ^_^

Strawberry shortcake
This is their best seller. If you're a strawberry lover like me, you will love this. Light and creamy, not at all overwhelming. It feels so light you can eat at least 2 or 3 slices. :))

Financier
This one is a family favorite. We love this tiny buttery almond cake... so worth the calories! :D

Butter roll
Dad loves soft bread! It's now our new love... soft and buttery! Also yummy with jam or marmalade. ;)
