Going healthy @ Wholesome Table

It's good there are now healthier choices around the metro, particularly those that use organic products. We went for the healthy route one Friday dinner @ Wholesome Table. We weren't sure what to expect but seeing the crowd in the restaurant was a good sign perhaps and got a table after 15-20 minutes (My apologies for the dark pictures... did some editing).

Hearty tomato soup

Wholesome salad
I agree with the name because there were no overpowering flavors. We love the blend of the avocados, tomatoes and onions! You will feel healthy after eating this. ;)

Burrata
If you're a cheesy (not cheesy mushy) person like us... you will love this one. Creamy and soft... Yum!

Organic mushroom fritters

Nutty garlic
This reminds me of pasta aglio olio (olive oil and garlic based). Simple and yummy!

Meatloaf
Among all the dishes, this was the one I was looking forward to the most. I'm often laughed at for liking meatloaf because my family couldn't relate. Would you believe Mom and Mitch enjoyed this as much as I did? Surprise, surprise! :D

Carrot cake

Sweetened yogurt
My eyes sparkled when I saw the strawberries. The perfect figure friendly dessert! ;)

Now who knew organic can be comforting? This proves organic and healthy doesn't mean boring. Looking forward to the next visit... hope that will be soon. ^_^

Everything sourdough @ One Way

Restaurants in Manila keep popping up here and there. Thank goodness we already have more variety unlike before where it could only be experienced abroad. An example would be sourdough bread. The good news is there's no need to look further, One way restaurant is here where they specialize in sourdough bread and pizza. Dad eagerly invited us for dinner here a few months ago and came back again recently (pictures were were taken at different times).

Cute salt and pepper containers! ^_^

Welcome drink with Lime, Mint and Basil
A refreshing combination... perfect for the hot and humid weather!

Bread and butter
The blend of the herbs was awesome!

Pamplona pizza with Jamon Serrano, Spanish Chorizo, Arugula, cherry tomato and lemon dressing

Chilean black mussels with white and cream
Anything creamy and herby is always welcome... One of our favorites.

Salmon gravlax sandwich
I'm a salmon lover and loved the blend with the sauce and dill.

Steak Dianne -tenderloin in mushroom and cognac sauce with a touch of creme fraiche
Another favorite!

Crepe Suzette... with the works and flair :D

The finished product

The creamy dishes stood out... tasty without being too rich or overwhelming... just right. I was pleasantly surprised with their sourdough bread because it wasn't sour but tasted like regular bread... which is good. Sourdough may be the specialty but for me it's another comforting place to look forward to so this means it's now included in the family's comfort food list. Thank you to Tito Joe Assad for entertaining us, I believe we'll be coming back again soon. ^_^

Deluxe meals @ Lusso

It was a nice change from our usual places to have lunch at Lusso. I can't believe my last visit here was around 3 or 4 years ago. I suddenly remembered this place after Mom and I read recent feature and of course every picture looked really mouth-watering. It was just us girls (with Mom and my sisters Nicole and Mitch) so this was my suggestion and they agreed. :D

Their setting is like a five star hotel... posh, bright, cozy and clean. You will definitely be relaxed here. ;)

Mushroom soup

Luxe fries with champagne cream, lumpfish caviar, chive
This was an interesting and yummy combination... talk about deluxe. This became our new favorite. :D

Salmon tartare mille feuille

Lobster and river prawn roll

Shepherd's pie
I'm a shepherd's pie lover. This had a hint of truffle oil... Love it!

Spinach Taglierini

Chicken pot pie

Most of these dishes you see are on the creamy side but not to worry... it wasn't too rich or overwhelming, just right (believe us we know because we're quite sensitive with something overwhelming). Everything you see here was wiped out which just means one thing... there will be more visits. ;)
