Big breakfast @ IHOP

I love breakfast food! It's always a treat to have sunny side up eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes and all the works. We took a chance at IHOP last weekend. It seems the craze is still ongoing because there was still a long wait for a table. Thank goodness our wait wasn't long and we were off for a big breakfast...

The assorted syrups
Something's missing... Yoohoo, Blueberry, where are you?

Split Decision Breakfast

Buttermilk pancakes

Hash brown
One of the best hash browns we've had.

Strawberry Banana Danish Fruit Crepes

New York Cheesecake Pancakes
I love the blend of the strawberries and cream cheese! My order was the Pick A Pancake Combo which comes with 2 eggs, sausage or bacon, hash browns, pancakes of your choice. Sorry I forgot to take a pic.

Coffee
Coffee is refillable. :D

Iced Coffee (Vanilla)
I enjoyed this too, especially with the hot weather. This is refillable too. :D

We were happy with the food and service in general. I look forward to another visit, not necessarily for breakfast, but it would be nice to have breakfast food for lunch and dinner. :))

A nice escape @ Antonio's

We were happy to have lunch at Antonio's in Tagaytay last weekend. It was such a treat to escape the unbearable heat of Manila for a while and have the best food. We usually go to Antonio's during dinner, but lunch is also good because you get to see everything. Going there was a breeze and it made us even more hungry. In the numerous times we've eaten here, food has always been fresh and delicious!

Love the setting! It's even more romantic at night. ;)

Their menu

Appetizers menu

Bacalao
This is new to us. I was surprised it wasn't tomato based, but we all enjoyed.

Dalandan juice*

Bread and butter

Tempura scallops
Love the blend of the cream and mangoes with the scallops! It wasn't too rich... just right.

Salad

Mushroom Cappuccino Soup
Love the creamy blend of the soup!

Green Mango Sorbet
This was refreshing!

Beef Fillet Mignon
Just in case you're wondering where's the bacon... Mom requested no bacon.

Pommery rubbed roasted rack of lamb
This comes with Spaetzle with Pancetta, which is like a rich and creamy Carbonara... love it!

Dessert menu

Poached pear
This comes with Vanilla ice cream but Mom requested these separated... But why?

Berries & cream ice cream
The berries are blueberries and blackberries. Love the creamy and fruity blend!

Tarragon tea
They say this is good for digestion. I call this "Sarsi tea" because it reminds me of Sarsi. :))

Coffee
Coffee is strong... which is good.

The menu makes some changes from time to time. The soup and sorbet vary.  We were happy there are ice creams already available. Each meal comes with either coffee or tea and I always choose the latter since I can only have it in Tagaytay. If you dine here, expect to have the best quality for both food and service.

Since I introduced Kuppa to my parents, we kept coming back (See my previous post). They don't only have great coffee, they have delicious food too. For a relaxing meal, this is another place to go to, whether alone or with a group. Here are pics taken at different times (this is evidence we keep coming back). ^_^

Pasta Bolognese
-One of the best Bolognese!

Prime rib eye
-Beef was tender and tasty. We were pleasantly surprised.

Garlic rice

Iced White Cloud Mocha

Salmone Affumicato

Limonata
-This is so refreshing! Perfect for summer.

It's good they have a buzzer so it's easier to call.

Caesar salad and flambe @ Mario's

One of our favorite restaurants in Baguio is Mario's. In all our Baguio trips, we never missed out eating here since the 90's, when it was still in Session Road. Quality has been consistent all these years, which is why it has been part of our comfort food list. We had a light lunch, but still had our favorites. :D

Bread

Caesar salad
One of our favorites. An order is for 2. They make it made the traditional way using a wooden bowl. This is definitely a must have.

French onion soup
Another favorite. Dad gives me all the "bebelgam" (aka the cheese). :D

Prawns Thermidor
This was surprisingly good!

Strawberry flambe
They make this in front of you; another must have.

Here are other recommended items. Good thing I took these pics last year. It was our first time to try these and they were a hit. :D

Lengua con setas

Paella
Sorry don't remember what kind this was.

Salpicado

Mango flambe
Not our first time with this one... Another favorite.

As you dine, you will feel the cool air and have this view.

Timeless Baguio Country Club

Baguio Country Club has been one of our hangouts/activity center/residence all these years. Already 100+ years old (in other words... immortal), the club still maintains their beauty and charm of the wood cabin like ambiance and their beautiful and serene golf course. Another highlight is the crisp, cool and clean air. Last but definitely not the least... the fresh and comforting food. When you're there, that's best time to eat a lot of vegetables and strawberries. :D

     BCC golf course

Raisin bread

Golfer's Breakfast: corned beef hash and eggs

Pancit Canton

Clubhouse sandwich
-My new favorite! ^_^

Chicken sandwich

Fresh juices
-Can you guess which is the Watermelon and Strawberry? :P

Fresh strawberries and cream

Since we had spent many summer vacations in Baguio during our childhood, we had countless memories in the club. We joined several Easter Egg Hunts with our cousins. Another unforgettable moment was when my cousins played a prank when he called a guest (they just pressed a random room number) late at night, saying he won a grand prize (a trip but don't remember where) and he needed to shout out loud by the balcony "I love Baguio Country Club" so he could claim his so called "prize" the next day.
